The Story Behind Our Logo: A Butterfly of Transformation, Compassion, and Inclusion

We are thrilled to unveil the new logo of the Rabia Basri Foundation (RBF)—a design rich in meaning and symbolism, brought to life by the talented Jasmine Ni.

Modelled after a butterfly and its metamorphic cycle, our logo embodies the transformative journey that lies at the heart of RBF’s mission: to create inclusive, equitable educational communities where every child can grow, thrive, and be celebrated for who they are.

Just like a butterfly’s transformation from caterpillar to chrysalis to flight, we believe that education has the power to ignite growth and change—in individuals, in classrooms, and in society.

The butterfly in our logo is more than a visual identity. It’s a metaphor for the values that guide everything we do. Each part of the design reflects a key principle of our foundation, blending together under the powerful umbrella of inclusion.

Left Wing: Innovation & Creativity

Shaped like a brain or a thought bubble, the left wing reflects our commitment to innovation and creative thinking. We strive to challenge conventional norms in education and champion new approaches that support neurodiverse learners and children with disabilities.

Antenna: Open-Mindedness & Receptivity

Facing outward and open-ended, the antenna symbolizes receptivity—to ideas, experiences, and people. This openness is essential for building inclusive environments, where listening and learning from one another is key.

Right Wing: Uniqueness & Individuality

The right wing is the only component with a playful loop, representing the uniqueness of every child. At RBF, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. We honor each learner’s identity, strengths, and potential, creating space for joyful, personalized learning.

Bottom Wing: Empathy, Compassion & Empowerment

The heart-shaped bottom wing is the foundation of our logo, just as compassion and empathy are the foundation of our work. It represents the deep care we hold for children, families, educators, and communities. Equity is not possible without empathy—and transformation begins with the heart.
